Looking through the lens with designing eyes.

There are a few things that I am passionate about, my four wonderful strong daughters, my grandchildren, horticulture, photography and craft.

My love of all things horticulture filtered down from my ancestral great, great, grandfather and then subsequent generations of practising gardeners. I learnt about gardens early on in my childhood at the knees of my grandmother. She had a lovely cottage type garden gleaned from her friends, neighbours and her family members. My parents were also avid gardeners. I spent many hours tending their gardens over the years. When I married I started my own gardens in the homes I occupied. Later I studied horticulture and realised the overwhelming passion I had for plants and gardens that had been fostered in me earlier in my life.

My passion for photography was also borne out of my father’s passion for photography. From the time I was a baby he always had a camera in action documenting special times in our family’s lives and then later in the 1970’s he joined a camera club.  He built his own darkroom, took great shots, turned them into prints and won awards. He imparted some of his knowledge to me and so this leads me to look at everything as I would through the camera lens.

My passion for my family is like most peoples passion for their own families fueled by an intense love and longing to see them happy and healthy.  I was introduced to craft when i was at high school by my small group of friends.  These girls taught me to crochet. When I was pregnant with my first child I made small items of clothing for her and her sisters.  My skills grew over time to constructing dance festival  and ballet costumes, items for the home and now patchwork. I have passed on various things to the new generation of children in my life , my grandchildren. Scrapbooks, quilting and sewing items all made with love.
